Overview

The famous Wookey Hole Caves, on the southern edge of the Mendip Hills, in Somerset, England is an extensive tourist attraction that features caves, a hotel, Leisure complex, restaurants and even a circus school.

The complex is visited by around 250,000 visitors each year.

Previously owned by the Madame Tussards group, the complex was purchased by former circus proprietor Gerry Cottle in 2005 for around £6m.

Client Need

Wookey Hole Caves has a huge requirement for printed material for both operational and marketing use, as well as promotional goods. In fact a vital part of the organisation’s business.

Therefore when the company started to experience a drop in the quality of print from their incumbent, along with a drop in service levels, they started to think it was time to look for a new print partner.

Solution

Our initial print audit identified that the company were paying far too much for their print through a combination of operational inefficiencies and excessive charging by their incumbent.

We allocated a dedicated Account Manager experienced in the Leisure sector to work in close partnership with the customer.

Through besley & copp’s knowledge of providing print to the Leisure sector and the close working relationship, we identified an opportunity to radically improve the print management service that they received, while lowering the company’s overall print related spend.

The Account Manager needs to have an understanding of the wide range of products required, work closely with the customer’s creative team, and finally be very pro-active with product suggestions and innovation. All of this backed up by regular on-site visits and fluid communication.
